Is The Power of Concentration Really Necessary To Achieve Success?

Is The Power of Concentration Really Necessary To Achieve Success?

In order to make a success of anything in your life, you must be able to concentrate your entire thought upon the idea that you are working on.
Isn’t it interesting how easily we are able to concentrate on something that is negative and destructive, but have a very hard time holding on to thoughts - for any length of time - when it’s something beneficial?
Try it. Try to think of one good thing right now that makes you feel happy, excited or at ease. Hold that thought and vision for 5 minutes.
Almost impossible to do wasn’t it? Perhaps your mind kept drifting to a list of tasks that you need to get completed or slips back to a current problem that’s been worrying you lately.
Now, consider how often you think about problems that frustrate you, make you angry or sad, each and every day. Some of them can consume you for days!
When was the last time a happy, constructive thought held your attention for days? How about one day? Okay, you must be able to think of one that kept you smiling for at least an hour, right?
You could come up with an example of one couldn’t you? Just for an hour… one happy, excited thought that had you smiling, without any negative thoughts intruding?
Did you ever stop to think what an important part your thoughts -
concentrated thoughts - play in your life?
Believe it or not, but it’s “you” who chooses what you focus your thoughts on. Only “you” can choose to throw the switch and cut off the flow of power into negative thoughts. Only “you” can decide to focus on uplifting and constructive thoughts.

In order to make a success of anything in your life, you must be able to concentrate your entire thought upon the idea that you are working on. Allowing distractions, doubts, or worry to enter and control your mind will steal energy away, and cause you to loose focus on what you want to accomplish.
When you loose that concentration, you begin to fall behind on what you had planned to do. That time is gone forever now. You can’t get it back. You may come up with all kinds of reasons why you got distracted or why you just “had to think” about a specific problem.  But those are just excuses.
Focused concentration and action are needed to achieve success – in any part of your life. Letting your mind drift willy nilly and reflecting on destructive thoughts will only keep you stuck exactly where you are now.
Has dwelling on any negative thoughts helped you in any way? Exactly what has it accomplished other than to make you miserable and angry? In fact, I bet all it did was keep you from being productive and clear-headed. You didn’t accomplish even half of what you wanted to do because you were so agitated.
Concentrating on bad things, holding onto negative thoughts, doesn’t accomplish anything except to make you feel worse than you already feel. It’s why we’re so often told to “let go of the past.” The past is done. It can not be changed. Focus on the present and what good things you want to accomplish right now, in this moment. That’s where success lies.
That’s how you begin to achieve it.
Which thoughts do you choose to concentrate on?
