Recipe for Success: Four Ingredients to Achieving the Life You Want by: Anne Perry
Recipe for Success: Four Ingredients to Achieving the Life You Want
by: Anne Perry
by: Anne Perry
What are your dreams? Whether you want to build a Fortune 500 company, remodel an old house, or move to Costa Rica and learn to surf, there is a formula to get you there; a recipe. In fact, there are four secret ingredients to turning any dream you have into reality:
1) Vision
When is the last time you let yourself go in to a delicious, juicy daydream? The kind where you catch yourself smiling as you gaze out the window and, upon waking from your trance, the grass is greener and the sky is bluer? Contrary to what you may have been taught in school, having your head in the clouds is the first key ingredient to achieving the life you deserve.

The kind where you catch yourself smiling as you gaze out the window and, upon waking from your trance, the grass is greener and the sky is bluer? Contrary to what you may have been taught in school, having your head in the clouds is the first key ingredient to achieving the life you deserve.
If it weren’t for imaginations running wild, we wouldn’t have the luxury of hopping the globe by airplane, the pleasure of reading a mystery novel, or the thrill of splashing down a Slip ‘n Slide. After all, some daydreamer invented the Slip ‘n Slide! Anything worth existing was once a spark of a dream. Achieving your goals in life and business starts with visualization, because it paints the picture of where you are going.
2) Plan
Planning is the second ingredient to having your dream on a platter. When you make plans, you are preparing yourself for something to actually happen with your dream. You pull your visualization into the real world, and start to give it a shape. This is when dates go on calendars, blueprints are made, maps are drawn up, and meetings are called.

You pull your visualization into the real world, and start to give it a shape. This is when dates go on calendars, blueprints are made, maps are drawn up, and meetings are called.
One of my favorite planning tools for creating the life you desire is this backwards timeline:
•*Visualize the highest outcome for your life or business three to five years from now
•*Define your intentions for a winning year (to bring you toward that inspiring vision)
•*Define your targets for a successful quarter (to bring you toward your winning year)
•*Define your goals for a productive month (to bring you toward your successful quarter)
•*Define your objectives for a powerful week (to bring you toward your productive month)
•*Define your actions for a productive day (to bring you toward your powerful week)
This strategy, when applied to your goals, practically guarantees your success in any undertaking.
3) Action
The third essential ingredient in making things happen in your life and business is action. Without action, the cake will collapse. Visualization and planning are essential, yet they will only take you so far.

You can sit in your house all day and dream up the perfect husband or wife, and you can even plan the wedding down to the pink petunia centerpieces. If you never take the action to leave your house, though, how will you ever meet this person? You won’t unless, of course, you fall in love with your mail carrier or pool boy.
Part of achieving your vision is trusting that your intention will attract the people, resources, and situations you need to make your dreams come true. And then you must take action. Action demonstrates your faith that your goals are attainable.
4) Habit
Our fourth ingredient – the secret spice that makes all the difference – is habit. If action gets the ball rolling, habit keeps the ball rolling. Habit is formed when you take action consistently over time. This is a simple concept, yet don’t confuse simple with easy. It was Samuel Johnson, an author of English literature, who said: “The chains of habit are too weak to be felt until they are too strong to be broken.”

This can be both bad and good, right? It’s bad when the habit is drinking a six-pack of beer and watching hours of television every night. Its good when the habit is flossing regularly, writing a weekly blog post, or making ten sales calls a day.
Habit with no worthwhile destination leads you… nowhere worthwhile. Intentional habit that is aligned with a big goal, on the other hand, is the single most powerful way to honor and live into your vision. When it comes down to it, your habits create your results.
So yes, there is a formula for achieving anything you set your heart to, and it can be summarized like this:
When you transform a VISION into a PLAN and take relevant ACTION until it’s a HABIT, then your HABITUAL ACTION over time leads to VISION ACHIEVEMENT.
The best part about this recipe is, you can have your cake and eat it too!
Nine Keys to Networking with a Heart by: Sue Urda
Nine Keys to Networking with a Heart
by: Sue Urda
by: Sue Urda
Networking is something that we do as human beings every single day of our lives. Essentially, networking is any form of communication that is had with someone that may connect you with other people they know. Any contact you have with anyone whether it is in the grocery store line, at a school event for your kids or at a business meeting are all forms of networking. The question is; are you using these connection points as a positive form of networking that serves you?
The key to making networking work in your favor is the energy with which you approach the communication. As a rule, the most positive form of energy comes directly from your heart. This energy moves through you and ‘in to’ whomever you are connecting with to imbue them with your heart-centered energy. In its raw form this energy has the power to move mountains, and certainly to move someone to thinking positively about you.
Networking with a Heart is the highest form of networking and when it is used properly will invoke lifelong clients, business partners and friends.
Here are nine key elements to Networking with a Heart:
6. Use the Universal Laws as a guide – the Law of Attraction, the Law of Giving and Receiving and the Law of Defenselessness are the keys to Networking with a Heart. As you use these Laws, the Universal Powers will step in and guide your interaction to the highest and best good.
2. Maintain a pleasant and open attitude. Relax the muscles of your face by smiling and relax your body by taking a deep belly breath. Keep an open stance with your arms uncrossed. These physical actions will send a message to your brain to be relaxed and open, and it will assist a flowing conversation.
3. Feel your way through the conversation, instead of thinking your way through. So often, our brains get in the way of the essential message of our hearts, and this could lead to misunderstandings or stilted conversations.
4. Eye contact is essential. It is said that the eyes are the windows to the soul, so the simple act of looking directly into someone’s eyes will provide insights into their psyche, their motivation. It will also provide to them insights into yours.
5. Become genuinely interested in the other person. Everyone has something to offer and something to teach. Being open and listening intently will provide you with information and tools that you can use to better yourself, your position in life and your connection with others.
6. Be Prepared. Have a concise and rehearsed 15-second answer to the question, “So what do you do?” The more easily these words flow from you, the more confidence you will build and the easier it will be for you to be understood and referred by others.
7. Ask how you may be of service. As human beings we are on this planet for the purpose of joy, and the more fruitful our interactions and communication with others, the more we will have to be joyful about.
8. Express Gratitude Freely and Often. It is always appropriate to share gratitude for people, situations and things in your life. Using the words “I am grateful” as often as you can will impress upon others your positive nature, your sense of well-being, and it will make you someone they are attracted to be around.
9. Be Yourself; Everyone Else is Already Taken. Putting on airs or pretending to be someone you are not is a sure way to put people off. Show people the real you, and especially show them the best parts of you. In this way, they will feel the natural connection and ‘heart’ of you.
Networking with a Heart is the fastest, easiest and most energetically positive form of networking, and it is guaranteed to work. Try it in your next interaction and notice not only how you feel in the process – notice the results!

Are you waiting for success to arrive, or are you going out to find where it is hiding? By The Napoleon Hill Foundation
Are you waiting for success to arrive, or are you going out to find where it is hiding?
By The Napoleon Hill Foundation
The poet John Milton's words, "They also serve who only stand and wait," may be both profound and genuine, but the true riches of life are far more likely to accrue to those who actively go out and seek them. Seldom does success come marching in accompanied by a brass band in full regalia. More often, it's achieved by those who labor long and hard. Take the initiative, and you will create your own opportunities. There is no substitute for action backed up by a well-thought-out plan.
This positive message is brought to you by the Napoleon Hill Foundation.

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria Osteen
The Fullness of the Blessing
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“But I know that when I come to you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.”
(Romans 15:29, NKJ)
TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria Osteen
Are you living in the fullness of His blessing? God’s blessing is His supernatural empowerment. It is His favor. And we’ve all seen a measure of His blessing, but I believe He wants to take you to a whole new level. God has promises and opportunities in store for you that you haven’t even thought of yet! What you’ve seen in the past is only a fraction of what God wants to do in your future.
Understand that God likes to outdo Himself. He wants to open doors for you and bring out talents and abilities that you didn’t even know you had. We serve a God of abundance! He is the God of more than enough. Not only does He want to meet your needs, He wants to give you enough to bless other people. That’s living in the fullness of the blessing.
Today, don’t settle where you are. Your destiny is not determined by the economy, your past or what anyone else thinks or says. Your destiny is determined by Almighty God. He wants you to tap into a greater measure of His power so you can live the abundant life He has in store for you!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, I come before You today with an open and humble heart, ready to receive all You have for me. Teach me to live a life that is pleasing to You so that I can be an example of Your love in the world around me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
— Joel & Victoria Osteen

Achieve Unstoppable Success by Finding Your Mojo by: Joanne Eckton
Achieve Unstoppable Success by Finding Your Mojo
by: Joanne Eckton
You are the only one that is living your life. You are the master, the sole proprietor, and guiding force for everything that is happening to you right now. Through the choices you make, and those you choose not to make, you have navigated through the maze of life to the point where you are now.
Are you happy with where you are? If not, it is time to change your choices.
“Most men lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song still in them.” – Henry David Thoreau
Most people drift from day to day, doing what others expect of them and not setting their own direction. To achieve success, truly unstoppable success, you have to live a life with passion, with mojo. To find your mojo, look inside yourself for the answers to three questions and then chart a reality that puts you dead center in the intersection of all three.
What are your talents?
Take an objective inventory of the skills you have, where your strengths and talents are. If you don’t know, ask others that know you well. Know who you are and what you have to offer. Dig deep for the underlying talents, not the skills that can be learned. Attitude and aptitude count for more than any individual skills.
What do you enjoy doing?
Start with a blank page and draw two columns: one for activities you like, and another for those you dislike. Write down all the activities you can think of, putting them in the appropriate column. As you go through your day, make a notation of everything you do and whether you enjoy it or not. As you think about performing the activity, pay attention to your physical reaction. Do you feel that pit in your stomach? Then put this activity in the dislike column. Your subconscious cannot tell the difference between reality and imagination, and so your physical reaction will be the same.
What do you see as your purpose in life?
You may need some time to distill all your thoughts into an answer to this question. One way to approach it is to ask yourself what you would do with your days if you did not need money and you had all the time in the world. Imagine you’ve received a large inheritance and no longer need to work for money. How would you choose to spend your days? Close your eyes and allow yourself to dream.
Once you have clarity on these answers, you can begin to recognize opportunities that are right for you. Take stock of where you are, and define a path to the reality you choose to live. Supposedly, when Michelangelo was asked how he had made the magnificent statue of David, he replied, “I just removed everything that wasn’t David”. Remove those things in your life that don’t fit your version of your future. One word of caution, though, is to be careful that you don’t reject something because you don’t think you can do it. Don’t let your fears limit you. Open your mind to new possibilities.
By going through this exercise, you can get grounded in your vision for the future. Consciously set a direction for your life based on this introspection and take action everyday further down this path. Constantly pull out your compass and reevaluate where you are and what you need to focus on. If you do not discipline yourself to do this regularly, you will tend to revert back to your old behaviors, your old life, and inertia.
If you enjoy what you are doing, have the skills to do it well, and it fits into your world view of your purpose in life, then you have mojo. You will achieve amazing success because you have just defined success in your own terms. Now define your goals and you have a blueprint for living a life with passion, remarkable and unstoppable.
“If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours” – Henry David Thoreau
The Single Most Important Mindset Shift You Will Ever Make by: Stephenie Zamora
The Single Most Important Mindset Shift You Will Ever Make
by: Stephenie Zamora
Despite all the various marketing, all personal development tools boil down to one simple concept: Personal responsibility.
Personal responsibility is about taking 100% responsibility for everything that happens in your life. Your successes, your failures, the way others treat you, your health, your happiness, etc.
But I want to make one thing very clear, it’s not about blame.
Personal responsibility is all about empowering yourself to create the life, success and happiness that you desire. It’s about becoming solutions focused and working together to make the world a better place. It’s a beautiful, simple and often-overlooked principle that absolutely everyone can utilize.
Personal Responsibility in Your Daily Life
Whether you’re unhappy in your relationship, with your job and your finances, or maybe your whole life seems off-balance and out of sorts… you are 100% responsible for everything that’s manifested in your life. This can be a tough pill to swallow, I know. Believe me I know!
It wasn’t long ago that I was absolutely miserable in my own life. Working at jobs that left me feeling drained, in a relationship that didn’t make me happy and living a life that didn’t light me up inside. In these situations, it’s easier to blame outside circumstances and people. The boyfriend who acts a certain way, the job with the bad boss, the pressures of society or the economy.
But if you can take a step back in every situation and ask yourself, “What did I do to allow this to happen?” you will be pleasantly surprised at what you discover.
You’re going to discover that you chose to be with the wrong person, you neglected to set your boundaries and you didn’t work as hard as you could have to get that promotion.
And you know what? This is all GREAT news and you should be excited about what you discover! Once you’re aware of what you’ve done to allow situations that cause you unhappiness or frustration, you can now make the necessary changes in your life to produce better results!
Action Step: Whenever something goes wrong in your life, make it a habit to ask yourself, “What did I do to allow this to happen?” Make note of what you discover and brainstorm ways you can make changes that will bring more positive and desired results.
Personal Responsibility at Work
Have you ever noticed that when something goes wrong at work, most everyone is working to cover their own behind? This type of reaction creates a hostile work environment with low employee morale… which ultimately leads to high turnover, low productivity and a uncooperative team.
Imagine for a moment, a workplace that values and promotes personal responsibility in their employees and operations. When something goes wrong, the team would sit down together and share how each person felt they contributed to, or allowed for, the mistake to be made. This practice would create a team that’s more solutions focused and supportive of one another.
It also creates an environment where everyone is happy and the world is a more peaceful and collaborative place. The company would see less employee turnover, higher productivity and more innovation from their teams!
Action Step: Work to implement personal responsibility as a team value whether you work for yourself or someone else.
Personal Responsibility Has the Power to Change the World
Above and beyond creating more fulfilling lives, improved health and well-being and elevated work environments, personal responsibility has the power to change the world.
It can be difficult to look at global issues and find personal responsibility, but I urge you to try. Taking oil spills as an example, imagine if we all took a moment to ask ourselves how we allow these situations to occur? We might find that we all consume and commute. Not only that, but we demand to do so at an affordable price while consuming goods from all over the world.
In order for corporations to deliver on that demand AND put money in their pockets, they cut corners and neglect to maintain equipment. This mentality in no way excuses or removes blame from the company that caused the spill. Instead, it helps us see how we’re contributing to the situation and allows us to find better solutions that positively impact the world and environment.
Solutions may include buying local, riding bicycles, recycling, and reducing our waste and overall consumption. Creating small shifts in our daily lives adds up to massive global change!
Action Step: What is a global issue that keeps you up at night? Ask yourself how you might be contributing to this issue. It can take some serious reflection and thought, but once you’ve found even the smallest of ways, work to create a shift in your daily life that creates a direct impact.
TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria Osteen
Remain in Him
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.”
(John 15:5 NIV)
TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria Osteen
Have you ever really thought about the relationship between a branch and the vine? We don’t use these kinds of word pictures very much anymore, but think about it — if the branch is not attached to the vine, it withers and dies. The very life of the branch depends on being attached to the vine. The same thing happens if we try to operate in this life without Jesus. Without Him, we can do nothing. We are cut from our life source. But when you remain in Him by daily connecting with Him through prayer, worship and study of the Word, then your life will be fruitful. You’ll walk in joy and blessing. Notice that this verse says “much fruit.” It’s saying that you will have an abundant harvest in your life. Remember, God doesn’t want you to just barely get by. He wants to overwhelm you with His goodness! Choose to remain in Him today; choose to make Him your top priority, and you’ll see His hand of blessing operating in every area of your life!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, thank You for being my source of life. Thank You for Your hand of blessing that is leading and guiding me. I choose to make You the number one priority in my life. Let my heart hunger only for You today. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
— Joel & Victoria Osteen
