“Learn to Make Decisions and The Universe Will Treat You with Respect” By Daniel Dominguez

“Learn to Make Decisions and The Universe Will
Treat You with Respect”
By: Daniel Dominguez
Co-Founder of G.O.D. Brothers Venture LLC

Have you ever thought about the huge importance that making a decision has?
Most of the people go through their lives without even considering how much every decision affects their day-to-day lives.

Should I continue on this job, should I go to college, should I study this career, should I get married, should I join the team, should I make this deal, etc.

Every single moment in our lives, we are presented with the enormous power to make our own choices but sometimes we don’t even realize how one decision could make all of our lives better or worst.

Since I started studying human behavior and success stories I noticed that people who make the wrong choices make them because they don’t really know what they really want in their lives. They just walk along the path of life wondering when is something great going to happen to them.

All of these people think that the universe has the control and they just have to enjoy the ride no matter what is like and forget the huge principle of “Free Will”.

From the moment we are born we are given one of the greatest blessing of all, the power to decide. We have the ability to dictate our own results based on the decisions we make. First we need to be really clear about what we want to accomplish in our lives and set our vision and dream as a goal.

Based on that list of goals we create, we have to chunk them down to a point in which we know we can give the first step and take action now!!!!

For example, if our goal is to study certain career at a certain university at a certain time. We could have the vision, the big picture of that precious moment, but to start moving into that direction we have to decide to take the first step now before we loose track.

You can start doing it by getting useful information, network with current students, professors or graduates in person or online, write down the requirements to apply, start working on those requirements and if you want to go even further, start researching and deciding the opportunities you will have and how you want them to be when you graduate.

These actions will move you forward to your dream and your dream will pull you towards him through the energy of the universe. This is proven science because once we have a goal and we decide to pursue it, our brain works as an internal GPS to accomplish it.

If our goal is clear enough our brain won’t see black or white, up or down, on or off, if not that it will only see the right road towards success.

This is the importance of making decisions, when we are not aware of our power to decide or don’t know what we truly want, then is when circumstances or people are in charge of our lives, and then we complain “why things are like these in my life?”

When things go wrong, just remember you were the one who decided to take that road and you are the one who can change it again. Successful people may have many strategies to accomplish what they want but they only have plan “A” and that is their only option, succeed at what ever they desire the most.

Take the steering wheel of your life, be the captain of your own ship and only look where your compass dictates.

I truly believe every human being has the potential to decide their own future and therefore accomplish whatever they desire. As Napoleon Hill Said, “Circumstances, I make them”.

To Your Eternal Success,

Best Times To Do Visualizations and Affirmations

Best Times To Do Visualizations and Affirmations

The most effective affirmations and visualizations are done in a calm, relaxed, meditative state. For most of us, in the daytime and early evening we are doing our work and taking care of business, cleaning house etc… During these times it is difficult for most to enter a meditative state at will.

With this in mind the very best times for doing your creative visualizations and or affirmations, is in the early morning hours just after waking as well as just before you go to sleep. During the before sleep and after waking time span, your conscious mind takes more of a back seat and begins to rest, these are the best times to change your thinking, and when you change your thinking you change your life.

Visualizing Successful Things

Visualizing Successful Things

The point of this exercise is to get your mind focused on being successful. We all do many many things successfully even if we don’t see it that way yet. The more focused you are on the little successes the more likely it is you succeed at what you choose and choose what you will succeed at.

So, to begin make a list of a few things you would like to accomplish that are just slightly beyond reach in your current mindset. If there is just one goal that is even better, but this is not about THE GOAL this is more about something you want but is just a little difficult and could be accomplished in the next 15-30 days, for instance, losing 5 lbs rather than losing the entire 20 lbs that may be your major goal.

Write down what it will be like, how you will feel, how things will be better and different now that you have accomplished this small but potent goal. Take a minute, and congratulate yourself and really feel like this is now a fact.

After you have finished writing this out, take a few deep breaths, sit or lay down, relax and read your goal a couple of times smiling and feeling good. Now close your eyes and visualize this success smiling and feeling quite content that you have made this milestone. Save this list to read and visualize this success a few times a week until you reach this goal.

This exercise will work on a big goal but you will be more prepared for success after you have done something more believable and you will be empowered by this experience.

Letting Go Of The Past

Letting Go Of The Past

You must, and I mean you absolutely must let go of the past of you want the law of attraction to work in your favor. I’m not talking about forgetting, I’m talking about forgiving. If you don’t and you continue to re live painful past memories in your mind, guess what will happen? You guessed it, you will continue to create the same painful memories over and over. Again, you don’t have to erase past memories which can be useful from a learning from the past perspective, you simply have to forgive, that is the key. To no longer hold a grudge or be affected emotionally.

One way to get to this point is to forgive yourself for any shortcomings you’ve been beating yourself up for, then begin to forgive others, it can be like removing an anchor from your left leg and start running free.

You can forgive others in person, on the phone, via email etc… or just in your mind if that is all you wish to do, but make sure you mean it.

Saying Thank You Every Day

Saying Thank You Every Day

Why do it even when some days seem crummy? Because everyday is an amazing blessing. When you are thankful for what you already have you are increasing your gratitude, which in turn attracts more abundance into your life. So every day you have the opportunity to practice the law of attraction by appreciating what is already working.

Start the morning by drinking a glass of water and being humbly thankful for such a pure supply of water, go for a walk and be thankful your legs that work so well. Eat breakfast and be thankful for an abundant food supply, it wasn’t long ago in human history where having mere calories to consume made us hominids overjoyed.

Then become thankful that you have shelter today. If you can become sincerely thankful for even these simple things, right then you will begin attracting more abundance, but it will be more of the simpler kind. To begin to channel this thankfulness into more advanced things that you do not yet have, do the following.

Think of the one thing or condition that makes you the most grateful, get a strong hold on how this makes you feel, if you have to remember that’s fine as long as you can create a strong feeling of thanks in your mind. Then use the same feeling to be thankful for the thing or condition you do not yet have, be thankful as though it has already happened.

Using Practical Steps To Aid The Law Of Attraction

Using Practical Steps To Aid The Law Of Attraction

Is it possible to just sit back, relax, and visualize then achieve results? Yes but nine times out of ten this is all somebody has done when they achieve no results at all. A better approach is to define a clear and solid goal, then move towards it with intention using visualization, positive thinking, and all the other techniques available to you.

When you combine practical application with your law of attraction techniques, you create a deeper channel for the universe to match your desires. Let’s go through the mechanics of how this works.

1. Write out a clearly defined goal, you can use your computer but for me a blue pen and piece of paper are best.

2. Write out steps you can take now or in the very near future to achieve your goal.

3. Write out what visualizations and affirmations and other techniques might apply with what you’ve already learned about the law of attraction.

4. Brace yourself cause you’re about to really start attracting success that will be hard to stop, even if you wanted too.

So as you will see when you combine practical steps, you re-enforce your positive thinking and your sense of deserving what you achieve. This has a multiplying effect for reaching your goals.

Achieve Abundance By Living Beneath Your Means

Achieve Abundance By Living Beneath Your Means

This title sounds like a paradox doesn’t it? I mean if you live in abundance then you should have plenty right? Yes you will, by understanding this paradox. If you are always spending less money than you earn, then you are in the process of becoming wealthy. Then as time goes on you are increasing your wealth and abundance gradually overtime. This wealth helps you get even wealthier as little emergencies don’t cause you to use your credit card or panic if you don’t have one.

Saving 10% is a good method mentioned by countless others. You save 10% of EVERY dollar you earn, period. For some who are used to living within or even beyond thier means this will sound difficult, but you simply have to do it if you want to become wealthy. You will find the bills still get paid if you are careful.

This is a practical exercise that will help you have an overall attitude that attracts abundance because as you build your wealth you will have peace of mind that breeds confidence and positive thinking.

Remember You Are Royalty: Mike Murdock

By The Napolean Hill Foundation

We all have moments when we allow others to cause us to react emotionally, especially in anger. Often we regret our response later, and we vow we will never allow ourselves to behave in this fashion again. The next time you feel the anger rising, remind yourself that no one can make you angry or emotional without your consent-indeed, your active participation is required. Those who have learned to manage themselves are the individuals who are destined to be leaders. They are chosen to manage others because they have demonstrated that they can manage themselves. They are people of character.

Remember Your Citizenship: Mike Murdock

By:The Napolean Hill Foundation

We all experience rare moments when a blinding revelation comes to us, when we suddenly see things differently than ever before. Usually, however, we learn the truth about ourselves gradually, over long periods of time, from quiet introspection. We are all spiritual, but some of us have learned to tap more effectively into the great strength that resides in the spiritual portion of ourselves. The spirit is not boisterous and noisy. Getting in touch with your spiritual self demands tranquillity and solitude. Make sure you dedicate a portion of every day to thought and study, to think and reflect upon your life. Choose a time and place that best allow you to relax your mind and devote your thoughts to reflection.

Positive Quotes For Success

Positive Quotes For Success

Do not let circumstances influence your thoughts and moods. By rising over them mentally, you will eventually rise over them materially.

When there are difficulties and you feel down, this is the time to visualize, think and expect the positive.

Affirm the positive, visualize the positive and expect the positive, and your life will change accordingly.

Positive thoughts are not enough. There have to be positive feelings and positive actions.

Positive thinking is expecting, talking and visualizing with certainty what you want to achieve, as an accomplished fact.

Riches, mediocrity and poverty begin in the mind.

I Am Grateful For The Money Energy In My Life

I Am Grateful For The Money Energy In My Life

Never underestimate the power of Gratitude as an attracting force in your life! Feeling a sense of Gratitude for the Money Energy you already have present in your life sends a signal to the Universe that you are now ready to allow and embrace more of this energy into your life. It says that you recognise the Money Energy you already have present. And where you put your focus is what is going to expand for you.

Too often many people make the mistake of focusing on how little Money Energy they feel they have. They focus on what a struggle it is to pay their bills or how they never seem to have enough for the fun things in life. Yet if someone were to choose instead to feel a sense of gratitude every time they are able to pay a bill or walked round their home and felt a sense of gratitude for all that they already own that is fun and enjoyable, they would soon find that they do indeed have more Money Energy for the fun things, more Money Energy that they may easily pay their bills when they need to. A consciousness of gratitude makes one aware of just how much many of us really do have in our lives that is good! For example, if you are reading this page right now chances are you either have a computer in your home, place of work or through another source. Or perhaps someone has printed this page out for you to read. You have been given access through Money Energy that has allowed you to access information that hopefully is helpful for you. If this is true, feeling a sense of gratitude for this opportunity will begin to stimulate more Money Energy flowing to you! It is a simple recognition that you have more than you thought you did.

It is so easy to look around you and think of all the things that you have not manifested in your life (yet). Or to feel envious of those who have more than you do right now. It is just as easy however to look round and notice what you have manifested that you have really wanted! If every time you looked at something that you own that you love and enjoy and thought to yourself "I am so grateful that is in my life! Thank you Universe for bringing it to me!" you would soon find that you are surrounded by more and more things that you love and feel grateful for. It is Law of Attraction that where we put our focus must expand and grow in our lives. Feeling gratitude helps to insure that what you are attracting is positive and joyful for you. It tells Money Energy itself that you love and appreciate its presence in your life, that you feel positively about it, that you welcome its presence. It gives you a sense of upliftment everytime that you feel gratitude for something that you have manifested. And the better you feel more of the time, the easier it is to attract and manifest all manner of wonderful things in life.

As an example, the next time you see someone driving the sort of motor car you desire for yourself, send a thought of gratitude to the Universe that this is also being shown to you as being available to you as well! That you have noticed it is in fact a signal from the Universe that it IS possible for you to have the car of your dreams too! Feeling gratitude for its presence in your life before it actually manifests speeds up the manifestation process. Gratitude is the fuel that makes it possible! My partner and I have a game that we now play. We have been wanting a Mini Cooper for some time now though it has been more of a "wouldn't it be lovely" sort of thought rather than a serious focus for us. So we decided that everytime we were out somewhere and saw a Mini, we would point it out to one another. Now its not unusual for one of us to suddenly pop out with "MINI!" oh look, there's another one! And another! We have been seeing Mini Coopers all over Los Angeles and each time I affirm that when the time is right we too shall have our Mini and I feel grateful because I know it IS on the way to us. And we also bless and feel gratitude for our current motor car too! It has been a faithful and very reliable (for the most part!) mode of transportation for us for a number of years now. Feeling gratitude for what is already present that is good helps to attract that which may be even better. If we didn't feel gratitude for our current motor now, when we did manifest our Mini it might not serve us in ways that we had hoped because our focus would have been what was wrong with our old car and we would have carried that energy forward into the new one. Gratitude helps to cancel out what one may feel is not quite right or good enough and instead helps to set the vibration and tone for that which we can feel ever more gratitude for!

Top 10 Prosperity Quotes and Affirmations:

Top 10 Prosperity Quotes and Affirmations

1. "My higher self is guiding me in the right direction."

Accept that you’re guided if you really want to accomplish what you’re called to do. Trust your instincts to guide you along the right path to your prosperity.

If you come across any passages in books that seem to leap out at you, memorize them or write them down to read over again; these are likely messages you were meant to read.

2. "I am discovering the purpose for my life."

The only joyful life is the purpose-driven life. The aimless life is not worth living. When you feel that you have a reason for being, you will feel fulfilled and your life will be beneficial to others.

This road to discovery is often long and winding, and it may take you on adventures that you often can’t predict.

3. "I know my mission."

What is your mission? Decide for yourself, then write it down as concisely as you can. Visualize yourself accomplishing your mission on a daily basis. Don’t expect your mission to be easy, instead, expect yourself to be strong in completing it.

Just like a mission statement for a business, allow your mission to grow and change as you evolve with each passing year.

4. "I sit at the feet of the great masters."

Learn from those who have gone before you, those who have already struggled, those who have already overcome, those who have already achieved, or those who already have fulfilled similar desires to yours. You don’t have to figure out everything for yourself.

Everyday is a chance to learn something new. Rather than reinventing the wheel, find a mentor who can help guide you to something better in life.

5. "I am managing my time well."

If you need to create a written schedule in a journal or input your tasks into your computer’s calendar, then do so.

Spend your time doing things that will make you money, bring you personal fulfillment, or otherwise make you the success you want to be. Don’t be sidetracked by frivolous things.

6. "My goals are written down."

Write down your goals, short term and long term. Read them over on a daily basis. You have to internalize your goals so they flow through your life and inform your every action.

Goals are important on your path to success. Each goal builds upon the last.

7. "I cut out the excesses from my life."

Keep your life simple. Stop flying off after the next adventure, the next romance, or the next “big thing.” Forget about partying, instead, stick with your schedule and stay intent upon your goals and your mission.

Enjoy simple pleasures and find the greatest pleasure in meeting your goals.

8. "I know how to use my time creatively."

There has to be time for recreation and for the things you love to do. Re-create your mind and spirit to keep up your strength.

A life of prosperity includes making time for creativity.

9. "I measure my progress."

You have to stay objective. How are you really doing with your progress? Success largely rests on your imagination, but it’s not only about wishful thinking.

Tracking your progress is important to see how far you’ve come toward reaching your goals.

10. "I get things done."

Those who hesitate are lost. If you can do it today, do it. Don’t force it, but don’t procrastinate, either.

To be prosperous is to take action. Whether in work or in love, take action to make your life better.

Whenever you need some inspiration or reminders of how positive thinking can help you, revisit these quotes and say them aloud!

This Will Really Help You! Positive Thinking Your Key to Success: By Remez Sasson

Positive Thinking Your Key to Success
by Remez Sasson

Positive thinking brings inner peace, success, improved relationships, better health, happiness and satisfaction. It also helps the daily affairs of life move more smoothly, and makes life look bright and promising.
Positive thinking is contagious. People around you pick your mental moods and are affected accordingly. Think about happiness, good health and success, and you will cause people to like you and desire to help you, because they enjoy the vibrations that a positive mind emits.

In order to make positive thinking yield results, you need to develop a positive attitude toward life, expect a successful outcome of whatever you do, but also take any necessary actions to ensure your success.

Effective positive thinking that brings results is much more than just repeating a few positive words, or telling yourself that everything is going to be all right. It has to be your predominant mental attitude. It is not enough to think positively for a few moments, and then letting fears and lack of belief enter your mind. Some effort and inner work are necessary.

Are you willing to make a real inner change?

Are you willing to change the way you think?

Are you willing to develop a mental power that can positively affect you, your environment and the people around you?

Here are a few actions and tips to help you develop the power of positive thinking:

Always use only positive words while thinking and while talking. Use words such as, 'I can', 'I am able', 'it is possible', 'it can be done', etc.

Allow into your awareness only feelings of happiness, strength and success.

Try to disregard and ignore negative thoughts. Refuse to think such thoughts, and substitute them with constructive happy thoughts.

In your conversation use words that evoke feelings and mental images of strength, happiness and success.

Before starting with any plan or action, visualize clearly in your mind its successful outcome. If you visualize with concentration and faith, you will be amazed at the results.

Read at least one page of inspiring book every day.

Watch movies that make you feel happy.

Minimize the time you listen to the news and read the papers.

Associate yourself with people who think positively.

Always sit and walk with your back straight. This will strengthen your confidence and inner strength.

Walk, swim or engage in some other physical activity. This helps to develop a more positive attitude.

Think positive and expect only favorable results and situations, even if your current circumstances are not as you wish them to be. In time, your mental attitude will affect your life and circumstances and change them accordingly.

Follow the tips and suggestions in this article, and prove to yourself the reality the power of positive thinking. More advanced and powerful techniques, instructions and exercises can be found in the following books:

Visualize and Achieve
Affirmations - Words of Power

When you expect success and say "I can", you fill yourself with confidence and joy.
Fill your mind with light, hope and feelings of strength, and soon your life will reflect these qualities.

No one really knows for sure how we develop self-respect, but the experts believe it begins at a very early age. Parents who show their children that they love them unconditionally-just because they are who they are-build a foundation of healthy self-respect that will sustain the children for the rest of their lives. From this foundation comes the moral and ethical structure known as character. Healthy self-respect should not be confused with egotism. An egotist loves himself for the most superficial of reasons, while a self-respecting person takes pride in qualities of character that he or she has worked hard to develop.

Abraham Lincoln once observed, "You may fool all the people some of the time; you can even fool some of the people all the time; but you can’t fool all of the people all the time." Regardless of how cleverly you package yourself, others will eventually see through your masquerade and recognize you for what you really are. As a general rule, people will accept you for what you say you are until you prove yourself to be otherwise. Don’t take advantage of the goodwill of others. Make friends, not enemies.

How Positive Thinking Can Defeat Anxiety: By Marilyn Roberts

How Positive Thinking Can Defeat Anxiety:
 By Marilyn Roberts

There is a drug-free way to treat anxiety that will build your self esteem at the same time. Positive thinking can be the answer to this problem afflicting millions of people. Although positive thinking may not

alleviate all stress and anxiety from your life, it can be worthwhile to try if it will even help some in overcoming the problems associated with a poor self esteem and your mental attitude.

Anxiety and Self Esteem

Anxiety can be directly related to low self esteem. If you are convinced that you cannot do something or are not good enough or worthy enough, then your self esteem suffers and therefore usually anxiety will follow closely behind. You can change your outlook about yourself with positive thinking and proving to yourself that you are good enough and you are worthy enough. You need to constantly reinforce your own self worth and you will see many of your anxiety issues slowly fade away.

There are many different positive thinking techniques that you can use to start building your self esteem every day. One of the ways is to surround yourself with other positive thinking people. Chemistry can be developed between like-minded individuals, so why develop low self esteem with negative thinking people when you can just as easily build good self esteem with positive thinking people? When you are feeling bad about yourself just make a list of your positive characteristics and keep them on hand for low self esteem and anxiety moments. Work on adding to your list of positive feelings about yourself and you will start attempting new things as your confidence in yourself builds.

Anxiety and Stress

Stress is the biggest contributor to anxiety but stress is self-induced and can be controlled. If you allow positive thinking to take control of your stress, then you are less likely to experience anxiety. You need to learn to combat stress with positive thinking, refer to your list of positive thoughts about yourself often, and you will find yourself becoming less anxious and will find your problems easier to deal with.

Breaking down your problems into easy to deal with stages will help you handle them in a better, more positive way. Your positive thinking encourages you to complete one step at a time instead of attempting to solve a whole problem all at once. Each step that you conquer will build your self confidence and alleviate some of the stress and anxiety that has been built up. Do not allow yourself to get stressed over something which you have no control of. This will only create unnecessary stress and anxiety. Use your time wisely and conserve your energy to use in a positive way to concentrate on the problems that are within your control.

Determining the causes of your anxiety will allow you to develop different positive thinking techniques and strategies to overcome these problems. It is up to you to take control of your life, including your stress and anxiety issues. Counteract anxiety in your life with positive thoughts and you will start seeing a difference in your outlook on life and many aspects of your life will improve.

There are many things you cannot control, but you can control the only things that really matter: your mind and your attitude. External forces have very little to do with success. Those who program themselves for success find a way to succeed even in the most difficult of circumstances. Solutions to most problems come from one source and one source alone: yourself. Living life to the fullest is a lot like shooting the rapids in a rubber raft. Once you’ve made the commitment, it’s difficult to change your mind, turn around, and paddle upstream to placid waters. But it’s the excitement and adventure that make it all worthwhile. If you never make the attempt, you may never know the depths of despair, but neither will you experience the exhilaration of success.

Bless Your Enemies: By Rhonda Burne

Bless your Enemies

Praising and blessing dissolves all negativity, so praise and bless your enemies.
If you curse your enemies, the curse will come back to harm YOU. If you praise and bless

Joel Osteen Ministries: He Will Fill You

Joel Osteen Ministries: He Will Fill You

Today’s Verse: “‘…My people will be filled with My bounty,’ declares the LORD” (Jeremiah 31:14, NIV).

Today’s Word:

When I think of being filled, I think of being satisfied. I think of having more than enough to meet my needs so that I can be a blessing to others. But it all starts with our level of expectancy. My question for you today is what are you believing for? What are you expecting? You might say, “Well, Joel. I don’t think I’ll ever meet my sales goals this year with the economy like it is.” Or, “I don’t think I’ll ever get promoted. I’m not that qualified.” “I don’t think I’ll ever get well.” The problem is you’re not looking for those good breaks. You’re not expecting increase. You’re not positioning yourself for God to fill you, and unfortunately, you won’t be disappointed. Jesus said in the scriptures, “According to your faith it will be done unto you.” He might as well have said, “If you’ve got a cup, I’ll fill you with a cup level of blessing. If you’ve got a bucket, I’ll fill you with a bucket level of blessing.” But if you’ll take the limits off of God and believe for supernatural opportunities, if you’ll go out each day expecting far and beyond favor, you won’t be disappointed. He will fill you and satisfy you with His goodness and show His favor in ways beyond your wildest dreams!

Prayer for Today: Father God, thank You for blessing me so that I can be a blessing to others. Today, I choose to open my heart and mind to You and expect that You will fill me with Your bounty. I choose to take the limits off my thinking so that You can have Your way in my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

"Our strength grows out of our weakness," said Ralph Waldo Emerson. "Not until we are pricked and stung and sorely shot at, awakens the indignation which arms itself with secret forces." Strife and struggle can inspire you to overcome adversity and to propel yourself to real achievement. View every struggle as an opportunity for personal growth. It is the struggle itself, not the result that builds character. If you know you are right, stay the course even though the whole world seems to be against you and everyone you know questions your judgment. When you prevail-and you eventually will if you stick to the job-they will all tell you that they knew all along you could do it.

Listen Up! By Darren Hardy

Listen Up!
By Darren Hardy

Contrary to what many might think (and many practice), the most important job of a leader is not to speak, preach, direct or advise…. The most important job of a leader is to listen.

In a recent interview I did with management guru Tom Peters, he revealed the four most important words in business leadership are “What do you think?” Tom said listening should be a leader’s full-time profession. They should be the professional gatherer of input, ideas, feedback, opinion, perspective and personal experience in order to make informed, well-thought-through leadership decisions.

Richard Branson once said to me, “If you are a good leader, you are a good listener.”

This is true for everyone in every aspect of life, but it’s one of the most neglected skills I observe every day. I am always fascinated by how poorly people listen.

The Offenders. These people are the worst. They make it clear you are so unimportant or they are so bored by your conversation that they look at something else while you talk (BlackBerry, e-mail, brochure, someone else over your shoulder, anywhere else but directly in your eyes).

It is well-known that one of Bill Clinton’s most compelling traits is his ability to listen deeply to whoever is speaking to him, no matter who else or how many other people are in the room. It is said that if he is talking with someone, he won’t even break eye contact to reach for his glass of water. He will feel his way to it, but he will never, ever break eye contact. He treats you and makes you feel like the most important person on the planet when you are talking. We all should strive to be that influential.

The Intruders. These are people who can’t be bothered to let you finish your sentence before cutting you off, figuring out (falsely) what you were going to say, and giving your their interrupted opinion.

The Blockheads. They spend the conversation thinking about what to say rather than listening at all. They will scan the conversation, lock onto a point they want to make and shut off hearing you at all so they don’t lose their mental point—making it obvious with their facial expressions and body language that they are impatiently waiting for you to (finally) take a breath or end your (dang) sentence. They then respond, and you realize they didn’t listen to you and missed the point completely.

The Egoists. Instead of listening to you and caring about your story, your feelings and experience, they “me-ize” your comments and respond with their similar experience, problem or yarn.

These are the most fun to watch (and most common), as people will volley from person to person changing the conversation to them rather than listening and engaging the original storyteller.

Recognize anyone in the above? Friends, colleagues, family members—yourself?

Jim Collins said this of his mentor, one of the most respected leadership authorities and the father of modern management theory, Peter F. Drucker:

“He was driven not by the desire to say something, but by the desire to learn something from every student he met—and that is why he became one of the most influential teachers most of us have ever known.”

If you want to be a person of great influence, if you want to teach people, motivate them, inspire them and lead them, then learn to listen.

My advice:

1. Talk less. Listen more.

2. Make fewer statements. Ask more questions.

Start with Tom’s suggestion: “What do you think?”

I challenge you to ask that question at least a dozen times before the week is out.

You might also follow that up with a couple of other questions, like:

“How do you mean?”

“Why do you say that?”

“How do you feel about that?”

Oh, and then really LISTEN UP! Don’t be an Offender, Intruder, Blockhead or Egoist. Listen so intently that the other person feels they are the most important person in the world while they are speaking.

Quotes from "Success is not an Accident" Part 1 By Tommy Newberry

Quotes from "Success is not an Accident" Part 1

When you try to get something for nothing, you become nothing.

Successful people are those who have learned how to consistently apply God's laws in their lives.

No one plans to be mediocre. Rather, mediocrity is the result of no plan at all. If you want to lead and extraordinary life, find out what the ordinary do----and don't do it.

What does Success mean to you? If you don't have a clear picture of success how can you honestly pursue it?
God Plus Goals Plus You is an unbeatable combination!!!
When you take responsibility for your actions, accept that life isn't fair, get rid of excuses, become a doer, and develop an abundance mentality, you will break down many of the barriers keeping you from true success. Maximize your potential that God Gave you!

Each of us has a finite amount of time, energy, and money; you must choose for yourself how you will spend them. If you elect to squander your resources by demeaning others in an attempt to advance your own interests, you will soon find that so much of your time and energy has been spent on gossip and slander that you have little time left for yourself. If you deal in malicious information, you’ll rarely be trusted. As the saying goes, "Those who talk about others to us will talk about us to others."

Sow A Battle- Seed For the Harvest of Peace: By Mike Murdock

Ten steps for building a team: By John Cotter

Ten steps for building a team.
By: Cotter The Real Deal (John Cotter)

1. Start with the right people. Let the excellent and good people know what they're doing right.

2. Do something about the mediocre performers in the next 90-days.

3. Hold a company-wide strategic planning session. Get people together and involve them in planning the firm's competitive strategy. Management should hold back and let other employees speak first in this session. The joint planning process is very important because it draws on a well-known principle of psychology that people tend to be involved in implementing what they're involved in creating.

4. Review the plan quarterly: This sounds straightforward, but most people don't do it. Get away for two to four hours on a quarterly basis and discuss the following:

· What goals have we completed?

· What goals are in progress?

· What goals are no longer relevant?

· What goals have not been completed and what needs to be done to complete them?

Keep this discussion positive and it'll create a sense of confidence in people that they can set goals and complete them. You want the planning and review process to be a living part of your company's culture, guiding how people operate. These meetings should be high energy, high involvement, problem-solving opportunities, not just places to disseminate information.

5. Teach your key executives what they need to do to be successful delegators and coaches.

6. Complete a team review of each team member's strengths and weaknesses. Have people do written assessments of themselves and everyone else on the team and then review it with the team as a whole.

7. Make sure there are no places for poor performers to hide in the company, especially on the executive team. If the teams allow everyone equal time to talk, the top performers will clearly stand out. Eventually, others may decide that they can't keep up the pace necessary to succeed and seek opportunities elsewhere.

8. Develop a performance-based measurement system by asking:

· What do people think they're being paid for?

· How close is that to the firm's "critical success factors?"

· Do people understand that it's the success of the company that provides their

paycheck rather than being on good terms with management, or their longevity, loyalty or effort?

9. Celebrate wins. Most companies don't celebrate enough. Frequent small and inexpensive celebrations that take more creativity than money send the message within the company that "we're winning."

10. Champion the team philosophy. Draw on your own enthusiasm and be ready to jump up at a moment's notice and tell people about your team vision, the kind of people needed for it to be successful and the benefits that'll come to everyone as the team reaches its goals. Use the same energy and conviction in your internal selling as if you were calling on your biggest customer. Other team members need your energy.

Teams can produce quality, productivity, innovation and creativity by lowering costs, taking out many levels of supervision and allowing greater flexibility. However, one of the most important things teams can do is attract and retain quality people. Once you have a real sense of teamwork in place, people will fight to work for your company because it builds on the fundamental human need to be a part of something larger than ourselves. This's why families, tribes and communities are so important to us. You can draw on that need in a company setting as well, with great benefit to the employees and the company.
